In the spring of 2025, the Fondation Louis Vuitton will be inviting David Hockney into all its exhibition spaces, with over 400 works dating from 1955 to 2025.

To mark the occasion, Galerie Lelong, which has represented the artist for many years, is staging an exhibition of his prints - portraits and still lifes - in its space dedicaded to prints downstairs and in the salon upstairs, at 13 rue de Téhéran.

This exhibition of multiple works highlights the variety of printing techniques used by David Hockney: etchings, lithographs, digital prints, photographs, photo-collage, photocopies, etc. The artist has constantly explored the new creative possibilities of production tools to show what he sees: his favourite models, Celia and Gregory, but also his parents, or the famous self-portrait of the “artist as a student”, approaching, drawing board under his arm, the bust of Picasso, the revered master. And among these portraits are a few flowers, some dancing, sunflowers, “roses for [his] mother”, and anything else worth immortalising from his window.

Au printemps 2025, la Fondation Louis Vuitton invite David Hockney au sein de l’ensemble de ses espaces d’exposition avec plus de 400 œuvres datées de 1955 à 2025.

Pour faire écho à cet évènement, la Galerie Lelong, qui représente l’artiste depuis de nombreuses années, propose une exposition de ses estampes – portraits et nature-mortes – au sein de son espace dédié aux éditions au rez-de chaussée et au salon à l’étage, au 13 rue de Téhéran.

Cette exposition d’œuvres multiples met en lumière la variété des techniques d’impressions utilisées par David Hockney : gravures, lithographies, impressions numériques, photographies, photo-collage, photocopies… L’artiste a sans cesse exploré les nouvelles possibilités créatives des outils de production pour montrer ce qu’il voit : ses modèles favoris, Celia et Gregory, mais aussi ses parents, ou le fameux autoportrait de l’artiste sous ses traits d’étudiant, s’approchant, un carton à dessins sous le bras, du buste de Picasso, le maître révéré. Et parmi ces portraits, quelques fleurs, certaines dansantes, des tournesols, une « rose pour [sa] mère », et tout ce qui vaut la peine d’être immortalisé depuis sa fenêtre.
