Sotheby’s annual Irish Art sale will be led by an exceptional group of 19 works from the collection of Sir Michael Smurfit, which furnished his K Club luxury golf and hotel resort, and private residence, in Co Kildare. The Collection features not only many of Ireland’s most famous painters, but some of their best works, including John Lavery, William Orpen, William Conor, Louis le Brocquy and Jack B. Yeats. In total Sotheby’s will be offering over 50 works from the Collection of Sir Michael Smurfit across sales in London in 2020 and 2021.
Outside of the Smurfit Collection, we will be presenting a strong selection of Irish works from the late 19th century to the present day. We look forward to exhibiting the works at the Royal Hibernian Academy in Dublin, which will be by appointment only. Please find details below of our exhibitions.
