Osh Gallery, The Old Sorting House, 46 Essex Road, N1 8LN
Open for one week only, the latest show at Osh Gallery marks ten years since Britain voted to leave the European Union. Curated by GraphicDesign&, the exhibition features ten new works created by ten artists, architects and designers, each offering an original and very personal response to the Brexit vote and what it means to them now.
Marking the ten year anniversary of the UK leaving the European Union, the latest exhibition at Pentagram‘s Osh Gallery features ten original works created by ten practitioners from the worlds of graphic design, type design, art, architecture and product design.
Using unsold copies of GraphicDesign&’s 2020 publication ‘The Other Side: An Emotional Map of Brexit Britain’ that were destined to be pulped, each designer has created an original and very personal response to the Brexit vote and what it means to them now.
While visually engaging and ingeniously crafted, the results are also insightful and thought provoking. They range from seating to encourage conversation to fragile curtains and melancholic post-party detritus.
The show features new pieces by: Sarah Boris; Oyinkansola Falade, Stella Jaques, and Yusuf Uddin (STORE); Ella Krispel; Michael Marriott; Hugh Miller (Pentagram); Marianne Mueller (Casper Mueller Kneer Architects with Mia Mueller Kneer); Stefanie Posavec; YiMiao Shih, Keelin Wright and Duncan Gravestock (F37® Foundry); Lucienne Roberts, John McGill and Rebecca Wright (LucienneRoberts+ / GraphicDesign&).
