Accompanying the Forest Cathedral installation in the Barn this summer, Messums West stays immersed in the depths of the forest and natural world with this exhibition in the Long Gallery which showcases work by a number of artists who are either represented by Messums or have presented their work in the gallery over the past decade.

The subject of the work extends from the forest floor to the sea and sky and encompasses sculpture, painting, drawing, photography, ceramic and multi-media. In line with our Active Environmentalism programme, the exhibition prompts thought and discussion on ways of seeing and relating to our environment.

Highlights include work by Laurence Edwards, Nicola Hicks, Bridget McCrum, Tyga Helme, Tuesday Riddell, Beatrice Hassell-McCosh, Richard Long, Henry Lamb, Kim Simonsson, Sonia Leber and David Chesworth, Makoto Kagoshima and Stephen Turner.
