This June’s Contemporary Day Auction brings together a carefully curated selection of post-war and contemporary works, by some of the most acclaimed and in-demand artists of the past seventy years. Spanning multiple generations, the sale charts the formal innovations and conceptual breakthroughs that have defined contemporary art.

The Contemporary Day Auction will also feature a group of selected works from the Artists for Kettle’s Yard campaign. These works have generously gifted by donors to support The Jim and Helen Ede Fund Endowment Campaign ahead of Kettle’s Yard’s 70th anniversary in 2027, and all sales will directly support Kettle’s Yard and help to secure its future as a place of art, learning and inspiration for generations to come. The special group includes works by Rana Begum, Antony Gormley, Megan Rooney and Caroline Walker amongst many others; as well as renowned 20th Century Modern British artists such as Ben Nicholson and Lucie Rie.

These works have been on exhibition at Kettle’s Yard until 12 April, before coming to Sotheby’s New Bond Street for a dedicated exhibition 29 May–12 June and the pre-auction exhibition on the 18–24 June.
