The Foundation of ART NYC is a nonprofit organization dedicated to researching, archiving, and publicizing the histories of immigrant and diaspora artists in the United States. Despite their significant cultural and historical contributions, many of these artists remain underrecognized in the broader narratives of art history. Our mission is to collect and preserve their artworks and archival materials, open them to the public through exhibitions and educational initiatives, and foster critical research into their lives and legacies. ART NYC began its work in New York in 2020 through a series of experimental and community-driven art projects, and formally established the Foundation in 2025. Today, our programs and exhibitions extend across the United States, Europe, and Asia. The Foundation is organized into three interconnected divisions:
