Sean Horton

Sean Horton opened his first gallery location, SUNDAY L.E.S., as a project space in an abandoned sneaker shop on Eldridge Street on the Lower East Side of Manhattan in 2006. One of the earliest art galleries in the neighborhood, Horton Gallery, under several names, has since operated in the Chelsea, Chinatown, and Rose Hill neighborhoods of New York City, as well as the Kreuzberg neighborhood of Berlin and the Oak Cliff neighborhood of Dallas. The gallery has realized more than 180 exhibitions, art fairs, and offsite projects in a variety of interesting spaces and contexts that include the former Croton Brewery (and the Beastie Boys’ original recording studio) in Chinatown, the Mission Style Mallory Pharmacy building in Oak Cliff, and the parlor level of residential townhouses in both Chelsea and Rose Hill.
