“This book serves as a witness to artists continuing to create physical objects with old and humble tools,” Smith poeticizes in the introduction. “Drawings are transparent. You see every mark, subtle or crude, form into the ugly, beautiful, sexual, spiritual, queer, and surreal. Drawing is at its best made without the fear of editing, politicization, or capitalization.”

Gracing the walls is a single small drawing each by Alphachanneling, Matthew Bainbridge, Ayumi Bessho, Bette Burgoyne, KA Bushman, Shea Chang, Lauren Clay, Serena Cole, Mass Dousseurk, Claire Downes Whitehurst, Alexandra Duprez, David Dupuis, Maëlle Foix, Jared Freschman, Tim Furey, Dina Gostyaeva, Sarah Grass, Megan Greene, Alanna Hernandez, Jason Herr, Lachlan Hinwood, Rachel Jackson, Rachel Kaye, Alexander Kvares, Adam Linn, Zachari Logan, Payton McGowen, Kian McKeown, Margaret Mousseau, Darcy Myers, Hiromi Nakatsugawa, Justin Bryan Nelson, Mila Nowacka, William J.
