Artists: Leonor Fini - Aleksandra Waliszewska

Lévy Gorvy Dayan presents La mort de l’amour, a provocative exhibition that unites the visionary work of Leonor Fini (1907–1996) and contemporary Polish artist Aleksandra Waliszewska (b. 1976).

Curated by Alison M. Gingeras, the exhibition unveils rarely seen works by Fini and new paintings by Waliszewska, inviting viewers to explore a world where love and death, and seduction and danger, intertwine. Each in their way, the artists show us dreamlike and transformative scenes—populated by, among other things, dancing skeletons, ephemeral nudes, ghostly wanderers, prone dreamers, and feline companions—that daringly blur the boundaries between reality, fantasy, and delirium.
