Mai 36 Galerie was founded in 1987 by Victor Gisler in Lucerne, Switzerland. Today, the gallery is located in Zurich, which is a hub of international art. The gallery provides a platform for three generations of established and emerging contemporary artists. The focus of our gallery program is rooted in some of the fundamental issues surrounding western contemporary art production as a legacy of the Pop-, Minimal- and Conceptual Art movements. Mai 36 Galerie continuously introduces its artists to a wider public through solo exhibitions and publications as well as through participation in the major international art fairs in Basel, Miami, Hong Hong, New York, Paris, London, Madrid and Mexico City.
