Cornelia Parker

Born: 14 July 1956, Cheshire, United Kingdom

Education: Gloucestershire College of Art and Design (1974–1975); Wolverhampton Polytechnic (1975–1978); Reading University (1982)

Best known for her large-scale and complex suspended installations which recreate moments of destruction or celebrate renewal through violent transformation, Parker says of her conceptual work - “I resurrect things that have been killed off... My work is all about the potential of materials—even when it looks like they've lost all possibilities”.
