“Joo creates narratives that explore places, people and objects through reinterpreting perception”
Michael Joo investigates the concepts of identity and knowledge in a hybrid contemporary world. He creates narratives that explore places, people and objects through reinterpreting perception.
This monograph detailing the artist’s recent and ongoing bodies of work has been published to coincide with the opening of Radiohalo, Michael Joo’s most extensive UK exhibition to date.
The publication illustrates Joo’s interest in energy, transformation and perception; exploring ongoing bodies of work and the artist's major museum exhibitions at the Bronx Museum of Arts and The Aldrich Contemporary Art Museum alongside his large scale installation for the Sharjah Biennale in 2015. It also features an essay by Miwon Kwon, Professor & Chair of Art History at UCLA and a conversation between Michael Joo and artist Julie Mehretu.
