Galleria d'Arte Maggiore g.a.m. was founded in 1978 by Franco and Roberta Calarota and has since established itself internationally through a permanent collection of outstanding works by 20th-century Masters. In 2011, their daughter Alessia Calarota joined as Director, bringing a fresh and innovative vision that bridges tradition with contemporary perspectives. Under her guidance, the gallery has embraced interdisciplinary curatorial projects that explore the influence of Modern Art on Contemporary Art. In 2024 a new exhibition space has been opened in Paris. From the outset, Maggiore g.a.m. has pursued a dual focus: the art market and institutional promotion. This approach has fostered prestigious collaborations with leading museums and institutions in Italy and abroad, including the Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York, Musée d’Art Moderne de la Ville de Paris, Museo Nacional Centro de Arte Reina Sofía in Madrid, and Palazzo Fortuny in Venice, among others. On the market side, the gallery regularly participates in major international art fairs, confirming its presence among the most respected players in the global art scene. In 2019, Franco and Roberta Calarota further extended their vision by founding ACP - Palazzo Franchetti by Fondazione Calarota in Venice—an institutional space dedicated to exhibitions where art becomes a universal language connecting different countries.
