“I have come to think of drawing as something that emerges from God knows where, prompting the question, ‘How can I help you?’ In that sense, all I can do is honor it and respond with the utmost gratitude, acceptance, and wonder. Through drawing, I am once again confronted by my own inadequacy in the face of something that requires so little to exist, and yet has the capacity to bring me so much hope.”
