Reflex Amsterdam has announced its representation of Uwe Tobias, widely known with his brother Gert through their collaborative practice as the duo Gert & Uwe Tobias.

Over the past seven years, Uwe Tobias has developed a deeply personal body of work, exploring themes of memento mori, vanitas, still life, landscape and imagined terrains. Moving between figurative compositions and abstraction, his paintings inhabit a space between memory and invention, where grotesque figures, ambiguous forms and dreamlike spaces evoke both familiarity and mystery.

His new body of work as a solo artist will be premiered worldwide in Amsterdam late November and will remain on view for three months, through the beginning of March 2027.

The gallery is working on a major publication, to be released simultaneously with the opening of the exhibition, containing a selection of more than 150 paintings.
