BRINK is a gallery founded by Richard Parr, who is also founder of architectural practice Richard Parr Associates. BRINK is drawn toward artists who experiment with unusual mediums, have a fluid understanding of artistic disciplines, and approach space in new and unexpected ways.
BRINK is housed in The People's Hall, W11, where it commands the street corner beneath the mosaic that announces the building's name. Built as a Victorian temperance hall, the building has carried this spirit of community and creativity through its varied history since, from housing an artists' commune to being a recording venue for The Clash — a spirit BRINK intends to keep alive. This incongruity between temperance and tumult is reflected in the gallery's location, which stands on the boundary between the crescents of Notting Hill and the ex-industrial estates of Notting Dale. BRINK exists on the edge, physically and artistically.
