Taste Contemporary presents The Darkroom, Dye Lab and Kiln, an exhibition of work by Garry Fabian Miller, Ptolemy Mann and Marit Tingleff.

Curated by Sarah Griffin, the exhibition explores the interconnected concepts of the darkroom, the dye lab, and the kiln; sites of production and transformation, where material, environment and process converge across photography, weaving and ceramics. The parity between each of these creative spaces is striking and mysterious. Each artist – Fabian Miller, Mann and Tingleff – is ‘working in the dark’. Their deep embodied knowledge gained through years of research and experience gives them freedom to make sophisticated, expressive work in their given media. Working in the dark allows them to access something true and deep in their creative processes. Here, environment is not simply a source of inspiration but an active protagonist; shaping outcomes, timelines, and material behaviours across each practice.
