Artist: Günther Förg

To mark the start of the season at Frankfurt’s galleries, Galerie Bärbel Grässlin presents a series of early, large-format color photographs by Günther Förg, taken in 1985 at Haus Lange in Krefeld. They were first shown in 1986 at the Kunsthalle Bern as part of his first institutional exhibition. The photographs depict views through windows that open the hermetic exhibition space onto the real world. In Günther Förg’s work, the theme of “windows” is a recurring motif, both in his paintings and in his photography.
