Sotheby’s has been appointed to offer at auction the distinguished collection of over 700 works of art formerly belonging to Röbbig Munich, long recognized as one of the world’s leading specialists in porcelain from the Meissen Manufactory. The collection will be offered in Paris in June with two sales and then in September in Cologne with an online sale.

Founded in 1976, the Röbbig Gallery became internationally renowned for its expertise in early eighteenth-century German porcelain — particularly works produced at Meissen, Berlin and Dresden — as well as for fine mid-eighteenth-century furniture, primarily French and German. From its inception, the gallery maintained a clear focus on works of exceptional quality, selected for their historical importance, rarity and distinguished provenance.
