Artist: Brent McKeever

SETAREH presents LOOK, the debut solo show for Los Angeles-based artist Brent McKeever. Known for his hyperreal photography, McKeever’s distinctive visual language embraces glamour, unease, fantasy and performance to question the role of image-making in contemporary culture. Utilising dual-imaged lenticulars, lightbox, installation, sculpture, and self portraiture, LOOK assesses how the excessive consumption of imagery manufactures, disrupts, and fractures identity. Beneath this inquiry lies a quieter proposition: that the images we desire, repress, fear, and idealize are often the very places through which we come to know ourselves.
