Dedicated to presenting art that critically reflects on the present, Fontana focuses on practices that engage with the complex and often harsh realities of our time. The exhibition brings together works that explore fundamental themes of humanity, vulnerability, the environment, and mortality, reflecting on both the fragility and resilience of our existence.

Across painting, sculpture and photography, the participating artists develop distinct visual languages and perspectives. Their works challenge expectations and encourage us to look beyond the immediately recognisable. Material, process, and form become vehicles for ideas, while the physical presence of the works creates space for contemplation and dialogue.

The exhibition does not seek to offer a single narrative or definitive interpretation. Instead, it brings together different generations, practices, and perspectives in a dynamic conversation. Established voices are placed alongside emerging artists, creating unexpected connections and contrasts between works.

At a time marked by social, ecological, and existential uncertainty, these artists remind us of the power of contemporary art to confront difficult questions while leaving room for ambiguity and imagination. Their practices explore what it means to live, create, and remain vulnerable in the present.

Through this dialogue between materiality and concept, intimacy and scale, fragility and strength, Fontana invites visitors to pause, look closely, and engage with the works on both an intellectual and emotional level. Together, the exhibition offers a multifaceted reflection on our contemporary condition, one that challenges, provokes, and ultimately invites contemplation.
