Christophe Guye Galerie invites you to immerse yourself in the fascinating world of 'Winter Interlude', a group exhibition at the gallery that presents a unique selection of works attuned to this delightful season.
On view, among others, is a work from the series ‘White’ by Risaku Suzuki (Japan), which has never been shown in the gallery before and has been newly published in 2022 in his book titled ‘Winter to Spring’. In addition, Suzuki's one-off quadriptych from the same series will also be on display. Two works from Rinko Kawauchi’s (Japan) series ‘Search for the sun’, which were shot in Austria for her exhibition at Kunsthaus Wien, will also be featured. Among the subject matter of this series are the glaciers of the Alps as well as a limestone cave deep underground. Also on view are two large format works – one is a work by Edward Burtynsky (Canada), which shows a coal train in Wyoming, USA, from a bird's eye view and thus embodies the terrible beauty of industrial interventions in nature. The other work depicting frozen caribous by Simen Johan (Norway) transcends the classic distinction between reality and fiction typical of photographic manipulation.all images © the gallery and the artist(s)
