25 June 2019 | Zürich | full auction details
As we celebrate 40 years since the very first auction of Swiss Art in Zurich, our upcoming sale on 25 June will be a celebration of the country’s rich artistic heritage, whose appeal extends well beyond national borders. Leading the auction will be very fine works from two prestigious private collections, including superb Swiss landscapes from the 19th century and rare paintings by Augusto Giacometti and Paul Klee.
Elsewhere, the sale will build on Sotheby’s recognized expertise on important works by Félix Vallotton, thanks to a group led by a stunning landscape by the artist. Following the success of timepieces offered in December, the June selection will once again feature Swiss-made watches, and the Contemporary section of the sale will be highlighted by arguably the most important sculpture by Hans Josephson ever offered at auction.
