26 March 2019 | London | full auction details
Sotheby’s March Prints & Multiples auction in London will feature an array of important Old Master, Modern and Contemporary masterworks. The sale will represent 500 years of art history, from early Northern etchings to vibrant Pop screenprints. The Modern section will be led by fine examples of German expressionist woodcuts, including Ernst Ludwig Kirchner’s affectionate rendering of his fellow Die Brücke member Otto Mueller. This animated, textural print demonstrates Kirchner’s avant-garde approach, while bearing a remarkable resemblance to the subject.
