VNH Gallery presents the solo exhibition of the artist Mircea Cantor entitled “HISTORY IS JUST A BULLET ON YOUR TIME LINE”.
Winner of the Fondation Ricard prize in 2004 and the Marcel Duchamp prize in 2011, Mircea Cantor expresses himself through a great number of mediums from photography and video to sculpture and works on paper. He is interested in the Human, the way we all live together, as well as the questions that are raised by societies and the profound nature of the human species.
For his exhibition at VNH, the gallery worked along with the artist over the production of a new film in which the primary instinct of an eagle leads him to defend his territory when confronted with a drone. Occupation, surveillance, domination and other themes are developed in this exhibition throughout a group of works comprising drawings on the sheets of the famous magazine The Economist and seven wooden chairs that have been manufactured by Romanian craftsmen, incarnating the notion of power in a quite solemn staging.all images © the gallery and the artist(s)
