Schoelkopf Gallery presents Masterworks of American Art from the Estate of Dr. Walter Goldfarb. Dr. Goldfarb lived a life of extraordinary achievement and was among the most astute collectors of American art of his generation.
Amassed over 50 years, his collection represents his lifelong desire to locate the finest examples of mid- to late nineteenth-century landscape, seascape, and trompe l'oeil subjects. The eight highlights on view feature artists: James Bard, George Henry Durrie, Martin Johnson Heade, John Frederick Kensett, Fitz Henry Lane, John Frederick Peto, and Robert Salmon.
