With the painter Helene B. Grossmann, born in Dresden in 1943, the gallery is showing one of the most important German rediscoveries of this decade. Her virtuoso, seemingly transparent, then powerful, abstract pictorial compositions surprise with their inner movement and simultaneous stillness, condensing the gentle nature of place and focusing light into a rich, gestural and metaphysical sensibility.
