ALEXANDRE MANUEL
(b. France)
Born in France to Portuguese parents, Alexandre first fell in love with photography while traveling in São Paulo, Brazil in his youth. With a disposable camera in his bag, he started to record every corner of urban landscape among this wonderfully strange, enormous city. His travels became his training grounds in photography. After a PhD in language science and a few years teaching in the field, he chose to dedicate his life to recording the silent aesthetic of our beautiful world and dedicated himself to his passion, photography. Alexandre is fascinated by the temporality of photography. He travels the world to record its natural wonders in constant motion. Alexandre Manuel is represented by galleries in Switzerland, Luxembourg, Portugal, Brazil and now the United States. His work has received many top international awards, among them, Px3v Prix de la photographie, Paris in 2021; Sony World Photography Award; Black & White Spider Awards; European Photographer of the Year; and Monochrome Photography Awards; among others.
