Shirin Neshat, Christodoulos Panayiotou, Yinka Shonibare, MBE and Yang Fudong investigate the theme of love in different times and cultures through the spectrum of their personal experience, observation and commentary

I know something about love sing The Exciters in their first hit record Tell Him in 1962. This reoccurring lyric lends the multimedia group exhibition at Parasol unit its title.

Released on the occasion of the exhibition in 2011, this publication includes two insightful essays by Dr. Ziba Ardalan, director and curator of Parasol unit and Eva Illouz, professor at Hebrew University of Jerusalem, as well as a selection of internationally acclaimed love poems, written over the centuries by various poets.

The publication includes images and texts on Yinka Shonibare’s installation Jardin d’Amour (Garden of Love), originally shown in 2007 at the Musée du Quai Branly in Paris, as well as the video works of Shirin Neshat, Christodoulos Panayiotou, and Yang Fudong.
