“geometric order and precise programming created works that widen the field of what is perceptible”

Getulio Alviani was one of the most significant artists of the 1960's and as a leading member of Optical and Programmed Art, continued the research of Russian Constructivism, Bauhaus and De Stijl.

Alviani used geometric order and precise programming to create works that "widen the field of what is perceptible". Alviani pursued the best results with the least effort, by removing rather than adding, and concentrating visual energy where it is needed without unnecessary losses.
