Founded by art enthusiasts Katherina and Nico Zeifang, PULPO GALLERY strives to challenge the art establishment. Located on the Bavarian alpine foothills, the artist town of Murnau with its beautiful lake & moor landscapes, old farmhouses with fresco paintings and romantic old fishing villages acts as the backdrop for our contemporary art program. Called the Blue Land for its picture perfect natural lighting, this area was once frequented by artists such as Wassily Kandinsky and Gabriele Münter. Showcasing young and emerging talents alongside blue-chip artists from our permanent collection, we aim to revive this rich history.
We believe that the arts should evoke emotions.
We will make the art world more accessible.
Be an open art space that fosters discussions and interchange whilst creating memorable experiences.
IT’S ALL ABOUT THE EXPERIENCE
We are here to inspire. It is upon us to create lasting memories and evoke emotions through unparalleled storytelling.
WE ARE HERE TO DISRUPT
The art world has become an unwelcoming Old Boys’ club. We are here to challenge the system. Inclusivity shall replace exclusivity. Quality should beat networking. Cutting-edge art challenges established names. Transparency brings light to an opaque system.
WE ARE BRAVE
As James Joyce put it: “Mistakes are the portals of discovery.” We thus embrace a culture in which everyone is asked to partake and experiment. Failure is part of the game and enthusiasm beats success.
WE ARE RELIABLE
The art world is a place full of wheeling and dealing. Situated in the blue land area south of Munich, we are engrained with many of the core German virtues: reliability, commitment, honesty and precision. Quite simply: having been burned several times ourselves, we want to make the art world a better place. A place where a handshake counts.
WE DO THINGS WE ARE PROUD OF
Whatever we do, we always aim to deliver the highest quality and best experience. We are the best version of ourselves and this is reflected in our work.
