Häusler Contemporary
Established: 1988
Häusler Contemporary mediates, promotes and sells art with a focus on conceptual painting, drawing and sculpture. The company was founded in 1988 in Bregenz (AT) by Wolfgang Häusler (20 years of professional experience in banking, marketing and management) and Dr. Christa Häusler (art historian). In 1992, they moved to Munich. While the focus initially lay on the support of corporate collections, an increasing shift to gallery work took place at the new location. In 2007, a second gallery was opened in Zurich. From 2012 to 2019, we also presented selected positions from our program at «Haus 2226» in Lustenau (AT). With the growing importance of Zurich as a location, the gallery business was completely relocated here in 2020, while Häusler Contemporary Munich is continued by Wolfgang Häusler as an office for art trade and projects.
Project-based work in the field of art in architecture has resulted in high-profile commissioned works for companies and private collectors, including permanent installations by Brigitte Kowanz, James Turrell, Hamish Fulton and Keith Sonnier. Häusler Contemporary has published numerous publications on these projects and on the artists represented by the gallery.
