The app gives you 360 degree views of the exhibitions, information on the artist and the works, and shows you how to find all the galleries.
Works with Google Cardboard
and other viewers.
Home Screen
Each exhibition shows its title, gallery and location, and a tab at the top of the picture tells you if it is closing soon or an archived exhibition - no tab, you know that the exhibition’s on now!
Simply scroll through the exhibitions and when you find the one you want, or just like the look of, tap on the screen.
Exhibition Page
The Exhibition Page shows each of the 360 degree views available - with more information on the exhibition, gallery and artist below - scroll to read about the exhibition or tap on one of the 360 icons to go to 360 viewer.
At the bottom of the screen you will also see the two further options ‘visit’ and ‘works’.
Visit takes you to the map showing the location and opening times of the gallery as well as the dates of the exhibition. There is a button ‘Directions’ which opens up the Maps app and plots your route to visit the gallery. Tap on the X to go back to exhibition page.
Works shows you individual pieces from the exhibition and information about them - simply swipe to look through them. If the ‘works’ button is greyed out it means that none have been supplied yet. Tap on the X to go back to exhibition page.
360 Degree View
There are three main ways to view the 360 experiences:
1. pan your phone or device around
2. press the VR icon to use a VR Headset like Google Cardboard
3. press the full view icon and see the works your device’s full view
In each case, simply press the back arrow to go back a step
The VR view is designed to work automatically with VR headsets - press the gear icon to get to settings for help or to change or configure the VR viewer. The app also has a built-in QR scanner to scan the code on your viewer.
Coming Soon
As we develop the app we will introduce listings so that you can plan ahead; our NearMe function to help you find galleries in your area (this is also very useful when you’re travelling); a search function to find your favourite artist or gallery.
